Beaches

Playa Medano: Playa Medano is the most popular beach during the day time and is the closest beach to town. Playa Medano is also a popular place to rent water equipment, catch a water taxi or parasail for a panoramic view of the bay.

Playa Del Amor : If you are looking for a slower pace than the crowded Playa Medano, try taking a glass bottom boat out to Lover's Beach. This is the stunning strand of beach located at the world famous arches of Land's End.

Bahia Chileno: This out of town beach is incredible. We highly recommend it. If you are driving, exit the highway in the gully immediately before the Hotel Cabo San Lucas. There is a dirt parking lot with beach access. The water is a beautiful turquoise green and the tropical sea life is intense.

Medical or Financial
If you become seriously ill, U.S. consular officers can assist in finding a doctor and in notifying your family and friends about your condition. Consular officers can also help arrange the transfer of emergency funds to you if you become destitute as a result of robbery, accident, or other emergency.

Banks and Currency Exchange Information
The best rates of exchange for Mexican pesos can be found at banks, although the airport exchange desk is generally not a bad rate compared to the hotel rates

Drinking Water
Stay away from ice, uncooked food, seafood that may not have been refrigerated, unpasteurized milk and milk products, and drink only bottled water or water that has been boiled for several minutes. When ordering cold drinks at untouristed establishments, skip the ice, ask for your beverage sin hielo. For mild cases of turista, try Pepto-Bismol. Drink plenty of purified water. For children there is a special rehydrating formula available at all pharmacies. If you suspect food poisoning, see a local doctor immediately.
